Twin town signs are back in Saintes

Saintes’ Twin Town Signs Are Back.

You may remember that there used to be direction signs to all of Saintes’ twinned towns on the roundabout at the top of the Cours National.  Then, in the winter of 2008/09, the council decided to replace them with two meter high pencils, for reasons best known to themselves (see SSTA newsletter of Spring 2009).  The pencils’ stay on the roundabout was quite short and since their demise the roundabout has had a number of different floral themes.

Now the twinning signs are back.  A brand new set of signs graces the roundabout as the picture shows.  Well done Saintes.
