Data Protection

Everyone please note

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the new European legal framework for the protection of personal data. The regulation officially comes into effect on 25th May 2018 and it is important that the SSTA (along with all companies, organisations and charities which hold personal data) should be compliant with the new legislation.

With this in mind we are updating our membership form in order to become compliant as all members will need to give consent for us to hold their personal data. Over the course of the next month or so we shall be sending out a new form which we will require all members to complete.  Many of you will have the opportunity to bring them in person to an RV or an event, however, it is quite acceptable to send an electronic return.

We shall ask for the usual information (name/ address/ email) and will also be asking if you will give your consent to be included in photographs for publicity purposes. Hopefully the completion of the new form  will not be too onerous a task although I fear that it is quite likely that you will also be asked to fill in new forms for any other organisations to which you belong!
