26th Annual Dinner

SALISBURY Saintes Twinning Association held its 26th annual dinner at the Rose & Crown Hotel, Harnham, attended by members old and new.

Among guests were former mayor and president of the Association, Sheila Warrander, accompanied by her husband and official consort, Michael, as well as past mayoress, Mary Paisey.

SSTA chairman Caroline Rippier conveyed good wishes from members of Amitiés Saintes Salisbury, the twinners in Saintes itself, and advised guests of events planned for the rest of 2016.

These will include the final informal Rendez-vous of the year on 24th November at the White Hart, Christmas drinks at a member’s home, and participation in the St Thomas’s Church Decorated Christmas Tree Festival.

Work continues to develop links between schools in Salisbury and Saintes, and to assist Plain Arts in planning an exhibition in Saintes in spring 2017.
