On Sunday 7th September the annual SSTA BBQ was held at Roger and Cindy Demain Demain-Griffiths’ garden. It was attended by 22 members and potential members, who had brought along lovely sharing plates for the meal.
Having watched the weather forecast through last week I was not confident that we would have a dry BBQ. My confidence reached an even lower ebb when I was caught out in a thunderstorm on Sunday morning. However, joy of joys, we had a warm and dry afternoon to enjoy ourselves in Cindy and Roger's beautiful garden.
Thank all of you who had the courage and fortitude to risk the weather and come along. It was a really lovely afternoon and everybody said how much they enjoyed themselves. They also said how much they enjoyed my cooking but then I suspect that they were being polite. Thank you all for the wonderful and delicious sharing plates that were brought along, they made the meal.
The event was supposed to finish at 3 pm, I had even gone to the trouble of getting the government to send out an alarm at that time, but it was totally ignored! A great indication that everyone was having a good time. We must do it again!"
